In a spirited display of teamwork and community engagement, Dr. Jim Tatum, CEO and co‑founder of Dallas Quantum Devices, and intern Eagan Graham successfully completed the Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5K on Sunday, July 20, 2025, held on the campus of Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
They participated in the Sprint Triathlon—a USA‑Triathlon sanctioned event featuring a 200‑yard pool swim, a 16.3‑mile bike ride, and a 3.1‑mile (5 K) run. As competitors in the team division, each completed all three components, with their combined time contributing to their team ranking—although their primary motivation was raising funds, not podium placement.
Start time: Triathlon kicked off at 6:45 a.m., preceded by body marking and transition setup beginning at 5:45 a.m., while the 5K walk/run began at 7:15 a.m.
Participants included individuals, three‑person relay teams, and full teams—all in male, female, or coed divisions.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit Texas Woman’s University’s women’s soccer program, providing financial support through athlete participation and race sponsorship.
Dallas Quantum Devices’ involvement—especially with both executive leadership and interns participating—consistent with the company’s regional engagement and support for STEM and athletics initiatives.
